Javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra became India's first-ever Olympic gold medallist in athletics on Saturday. The 23-year-old athlete from Haryana is also a Subedar in the Indian Army. In 2016, the athlete had broken the junior world record with a throw of 86.48 metres. He was awarded the Arjuna Award in 2018.
