UK to criminalise making of sexually explicit deepfake images

The UK government has said it will criminalise creation of sexually explicit deepfake images. Under a new law, anyone who creates a sexually explicit deepfake image without consent will face legal repercussions and fine. Sharing the image could also result in imprisonment. This comes as part of government's plan to stop violence against women.
