Electronic payments company Stripe on Thursday announced that it's laying off 14% of its workforce, impacting around 1,120 of its 8,000 employees. In a memo, CEO Patrick Collison wrote, "We overhired for the world we're in, and it pains us to be unable to deliver the experience." The layoffs come months after Stripe reportedly cut its internal valuation by 28%.
